Our blog post Predicted Subcategories Winners in Luxury Cleansers Market addressed how crucial it is for your brand to pay close attention to what’s important for your customers. In today’s post, we’re analyzing which fragrances we expect to be most popular within the Luxury Cleanser market in the next 12 months.
Our team here at Simporter used our White Space AI tool to analyze 29 luxury cleanser fragrances to forecast trends in 2023. Let’s dive in.
Rain Water
Rain Water lands the number one spot on our predicted winners’ list, with a remarkable 552.17 percent expected growth rate in 2022. Rain Water currently holds a 1.88 percent share of voice but will grow tremendously over the next year. Rain Water creates a pleasant petrichor scent when rain hits the ground, which most people associate with freshness and cleanliness.
Cleansers like this Rain Replenishing Oil Cleanser should see an explosion in popularity next year. Hopefully, brands like Kylie Cosmetics are ready to step up to the plate and launch Rain Water scented cleansers. Otherwise, it may shock their system when their household cleanser options lose market share throughout 2022.
Botanical
Products like this Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub will crush the competition in 2022, assuming our AI predictive models are on target. Botanical cleansers are the perfect fragrance for today’s consumers. Light, refreshing, natural, and floral-scented fragrances are expected to grow in popularity over the next year, and Botanical’s 0.77 percent share of voice should notable increase.
Our predictions suggest a respectable 152.17 percent growth rate in 2022, which explains why sweeter ingredients like honey or strawberry are expected to struggle next year, as we covered in greater detail in our blog about declining ingredients trends here.
Orange
The scent of fresh Orange, which is already fairly popular in the cleanser market with a 3.38 percent share of voice, is set to have a big year in 2022, even relative to the other citrus fragrances we’ll cover below. Oranges are rich in citric acid, which helps in controlling acne. Orange can also have exfoliating properties, which gives consumers a natural shine and youthful glow.
By applying Orange directly on the skin with cotton pads or balls, consumers get the look, feel, impact, and scent they love from a luxury cleanser product. We expect a 52.17 percent growth rate for this fragrance and products like this.
Citrus
Citrus covers a bit more of a broad spectrum of potential fragrances but will also increase in popularity next year by 29.95 percent. Currently, Citrus as a fragrance category owns a 4.99 percent share of voice, but we expect that to continue to expand throughout 2022. Cleansers like this Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Citrus Brightening Cleanser removes impurities for a brighter, smoother, clearer-looking complexion.
Citrus provides a number of benefits when used in facial cleansers. It’s ideal for normal to oily skin, is non-drying, promotes a healthy-looking glow, and leaves skin soft and perfectly prepared for additional products or treatment. Brands should take notice of our predictions for Orange, Citrus, Lemon, and Fruity (below) and create different products that fit the bill.
Lemon
Like Orange and Citrus, Lemon is an appealing fragrance because of its fresh, clean, and refreshing scent. Lemon, in particular, has strong antioxidant properties.
Lemon naturally contains vitamin C, an antioxidant that may help reduce skin damage and premature aging. Additionally, Lemon possesses astringent qualities, meaning due to its high pH levels, it can decrease oil on the skin and reduce inflammation.
Lemon holds a 2.11 percent share of voice, so it’s right up there with the other Citrus-type fragrances we’ve covered. However, it’s fifth on our list and is expected to grow less than its counterparts by 35.50 percent in 2022. Brands like Lush are sure to hit a home run with products like their Lemon Aid Cleansing Roll, so competitors without Lemon included in their cleanser lineups should pay attention to what’s happening in the market.
Fruity
Fenty Skin might already be a step ahead of us by launching products like this Buff Ryder Exfoliating Body Scrub with Superfine Sand + Fruit Enzymes in 2022. Our AI predicts that Fruity Fragrances, which currently hold a 1.34 percent share of voice, are expected to see their market share grow by 18.84 percent next year. Fruity fragrances include scents ranging from pomegranate to papaya to pineapple, all of which contain exfoliants that renew the look of skin.
